Riverbank is a place for women of all ages to gather together and encounter God in worship, engage in Christian teaching and explore our God-given potential.

Where: The Slate Conference Centre, Warwick University, Coventry, CV4 7SH
Theme for 2025: Mind the Gap. ‘One generation commends your works to another; they tell of your mighty acts’ (Psalm 145:4).

Conference ticket and single room: £150 per person / £100 for students (18+)
Conference ticket and twin room: £100 per person / £75 for students (18+)
Day conference ticket – Saturday only, lunch and dinner included: £50 per person

Additional information

All delegates attending the conference will be required to complete the online booking form.

Group members listed within a group leader's booking form are still required to complete a form to ensure all dietary, accessibility and emergency contact information is captured. Group leaders must ensure the booking form link is sent to all those listed in their booking for them to complete.

Single and twin rooms are available.

Rooms will be allocated prioritising accessibility requirements.

‘On the Sabbath we went a little way outside the city to a riverbank, where we thought people would be meeting for prayer, and we sat down to speak with some women who had gathered there.’ Acts 16:13.

When Paul and Timothy landed in the city of Philippi, instead of finding a group of men with whom they could share the good news of Jesus, they encountered the first women’s fellowship recorded in the New Testament. They met Lydia, a businesswoman dealing luxurious purple cloth, together with a group of women. As a result of this encounter with Paul and Timothy, Lydia and her household were converted!

We want to invite you to the Riverbank to meet with other women and discover a place to:

encounter God in worship;
engage in Christian teaching;
explore our God-given potential.

Mind the Gap

‘One generation commends your works to another; they tell of your mighty acts’ (Psalm 145:4).

The word ‘mind’ means ‘to pay attention to’. At Riverbank 2025 we will explore how we develop relationships that enable us to share the good news across the generations, learning and growing with one another.

Rachel Turner

Main speaker

Rachel has worked within family, youth and children’s ministries for over 20 years. After serving full-time in multiple churches, she then went on to found Parenting for Faith in partnership with Bible Reading Fellowship.

Through her team’s work, multiple online courses, resources and podcasts have been created to enable parents, carers and church leaders to raise God-connected kids.

Rachel is an international speaker and author. In her work, she has consulted and partnered with both international and national denominations, as well as with regional networks to enable growth in intergenerational church, robust family ministry, and church culture change.

In recent years, Rachel has taken up a post as Senior Lecturer at the Institute for Children, Youth and Mission. She is also a huge fan of Star Trek!

Tola Doll Fisher

Main speaker

Tola Doll Fisher is creative director and editor of the Premier Woman Alive brand and host of the Woman Alive podcast. In her work as a writer, conference speaker and event host, she talks about the journey of faith, relationships, success and identity.

Tola is author of ‘Still Standing: 100 lessons from an unsuccessful life’ (SPCK), has delivered a TEDx Talk on 'The Myth of Success' and writes a weekly newsletter on life lessons; based on the themes in her book.

Lucy Grimble

Worship leader

Based in Devon, Lucy has been leading worship and writing songs for many years. Her heart in writing and leading is to be vulnerable and real, sharing her journey of faith with honesty.

Her musical inspiration is eclectic, from soul and RnB to jazz and classical, and this array of musical influences has resulted in a diverse sound within her own writing and music.

Lucy has recorded four albums to date and has collaborated with artists across the UK, US, Brazil and Europe, including Matt Redman, Graham Kendrick, Paul Baloche, Ana Valadao and Sinach.

Lucy performs at various festivals and events across the UK and beyond, including Spring Harvest, David’s Tent, Big Church Day Out, Creation Fest, Festival of Praise at Manchester Arena and Prom Praise at the Royal Albert Hall.

What is the accommodation like?

All accommodation is situated on site next to The Slate Conference Centre in either the Scarman or Radcliffe buildings. Check-in is available from 3pm on Friday. There is also a dining room and coffee lounge nearby. For more information, visit warwick.ac.uk.

Single and twin rooms are available. All accommodation is accessible by lift and fully accessible rooms are available. All accommodation includes the following:

Double or twin beds
En-suite bathroom facilities
Spacious desk area
Free Wi-Fi
LCD television with Freeview
Tea and coffee making facilities
Hairdryer, towels, toiletries, iron, ironing board

What other facilities are available?

Riverbank attendees will also be able to make use of the university swimming pool and fitness centre at specified times for free. Local walking and running route maps are also available.

How do I get to The Slate Conference Centre?

Travel arrangements are your responsibility. We hope the following information is helpful:

By car: The venue is easily accessible from many major routes: M1, M6, M5, M42, A5 and A14. Pre-bookable car parking on site is free. Full information will be sent to attendees.
By public transport: The nearest train station is Coventry. Regular bus services are available from Coventry city centre and the railway station to the university. Taxis are also available.
By air: Birmingham International Airport is approximately 20 minutes away from the conference centre.

Can my dietary requirements be catered for?

Please specify your dietary needs on your booking form and we will pass this to the conference centre caterers, who will ensure your needs are met

I have other specific needs. Can these be catered for?

We want Riverbank to be accessible for as many people as possible. All areas of the conference centre and accommodation can be accessed via level pathways and/or lifts. There are fully accessible bedrooms available. British Sign Language will be provided at the main sessions.
