What is the accommodation like?
All accommodation is situated on site next to The Slate Conference Centre in either the Scarman or Radcliffe buildings, with dining rooms and coffee lounges on each site. Check-in is available from 3pm on Friday. For more information, visit warwick.ac.uk.
Single and twin rooms are available. All accommodation is accessible by lift and 4 fully accessible rooms are available on a first come, first served basis. All accommodation includes the following:
- Double or twin beds
- En-suite bathroom facilities
- Spacious desk area
- Free Wi-Fi
- LCD television with Freeview
- Tea and coffee making facilities
- Hairdryer, towels, toiletries, iron, ironing board
What other facilities are available?
Riverbank attendees will also be able to make use of the university swimming pool and fitness centre at specified times for free. Local walking and running route maps are also available. Please ask at venue receptions for more information during the weekend.
How do I get to The Slate Conference Centre?
Travel arrangements are your responsibility. We hope the following information is helpful:
- By car: The venue is easily accessible from many major routes: M1, M6, M5, M42, A5 and A14. Pre-bookable car parking on site is free. Full information will be sent to attendees.
- By public transport: The nearest train station is Coventry. Regular bus services are available from Coventry city centre and the railway station to the university. Taxis are also available.
- By air: Birmingham International Airport is approximately 20 minutes away from the conference centre.
Venue car parking
Free car parking is available for the duration of the event at the venue. Instructions to register for parking will be sent by email prior to the event.
Can my dietary requirements be catered for?
Please specify your dietary needs on your booking form and we will pass this to the conference centre caterers, who will ensure your needs are met as they are able.
I have other specific needs. Can these be catered for?
We want Riverbank to be accessible for as many people as possible. All areas of the conference centre and accommodation can be accessed via level pathways and/or lifts. There are just 4 fully accessible bedrooms available, allocated on a first come, first served basis. British Sign Language will be provided to support worship at the main sessions. A hearing loop system is available in the main conference venue.

What is the cancellation policy?
Should The Salvation Army have to cancel Riverbank you will receive a full refund of your ticket price.
Should you need to cancel your place for any reason, the following refund policy will operate:
- Before 31 March: 90% refund
- 1 April – 7 May: 60% refund
- From 8 May: No refund
Is there a waiting list?
In the event of Riverbank being over-subscribed, a waiting list will be implemented. Any cancelled places will be offered to those on the waiting list.
Can I bring a child with me?
Riverbank is a conference for women aged 16 and over. We can welcome nursing children under 12 months. Please email familyministries@salvationarmy.org.uk for more information.
Can 16 and 17-year-olds attend on their own?
We would love younger women to experience Riverbank. To comply with Salvation Army and venue Safeguarding policies, they will need to attend with a responsible adult who will hold responsibility for them for the duration of Riverbank and with whom they will share a twin room.
Who qualifies for an 18+ student ticket?
Anyone aged 18 or over who is a full-time student in receipt of any student related financial assistance at the time of the event.
Can I make a group booking?
Yes, the booking form allows group bookings. You will need to have all relevant information and full payment available at the time of booking including:
- Full personal contact details
- Emergency contact name
- Phone number and relationship
- Dietary and accessibility information
- Any health information group members want to disclose
- Data protection and photo consent
Are funded hospitality spaces available?
Each year, we are able to offer a number of fully funded Riverbank places to women linked with and supported by The Salvation Army’s Refugee, ATMS or Homelessness programmes together. A supporting Salvation Army leader, employee or volunteer should also attend. This place can also be fully funded.
