Intercultural Mission
How many tables do you sit around each day? At home? At work? With friends? With corps teams? The reality is, many of us sit around numerous tables in our day. Yet have you ever looked to see who is missing from around the table? Have you ever thought about what voices are missing from the subjects that you are discussing?
In this talk we will look at the need for diversity around our tables and the depth that is added when this happens. Throughout Together 2023, the Intercultural Mission and the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion teams will be around to engage in conversation with you about the diversity of the tables at which you sit.
Community Services: How do we know we are making a difference? Demonstrating transformation through community engagement
Salvation Army expressions across the country are engaging with their communities and seeking to support individuals and families to change their lives. But how do we know we are making a difference? The Community Services Department share how they can support local Army teams to be more effective in their community engagement. They will also explain ways in which you can demonstrate the impact that this work is having on the individuals we are seeking to serve.

Children and Youth: Starfish
Starfish is a Salvation Army mentoring programme for children and young people aged 9 to 16 in primary and secondary schools. The aim of Starfish is to make a difference to young people, one by one. This is inspired by the story of the boy who throws beached starfish back into the sea, one by one. Challenged on what difference he might possibly make to the thousands of stranded starfish around him, he replies: ‘It made a difference to that one!’ Come and listen to find out more.
