Family Ministries
The Family Ministries Department is supporting The Salvation Army across the United Kingdom and Ireland Territory to cultivate intergenerational culture by:
- Communicating a shared definition of intergenerational church.
- Developing and delivering intergenerational training.
- Supporting leaders, officers, employees and divisions.
- Developing intergenerational role descriptions.
- Encouraging local intergenerational workers.
- Piloting an intergenerational assessment tool.
- Providing resources, support and ongoing learning opportunities.

What is intergenerational church?
The Salvation Army defines intergenerational church as:
Nurturing Christ-centred community by intentionally engaging two or more generations to be mutually invested in serving, sharing, worshipping and learning, understanding that we are most fully the family of God when we journey together, seeking to love God and love others.
