Family Ministry at Christmas

Christmas is a great time for us to engage further with the families in our community around the greatest story ever told.

After the experience of last year, we may find that this year families are open to celebrating Christmas in a more meaningful way and this presents us with great opportunities to share the true message of Christmas with them.

Therefore, the Family Ministries Unit would like to offer some resources to help you do this in your Toddler Groups, Midweek Programmes for Adults and Family Carol Services

Jesus, Mary and Joseph and the Wee Donkey…

This re-telling of the Nativity is a parody of the popular crime drama Line of Duty. It can be performed by children, adults or a combination of both together and brings a current rendition of the Christmas story suitable for use in Carol Services and Messy Churches.

Nativity scene

We’re Going to find a Baby!

This Nativity story is written in the format of “We’re going on a Bear Hunt” and is especially suitable for use in Toddler Groups or Carol Services where young families are present. There are simple actions suggested that mean the story can be shared interactively or performed by younger children.
