Together 2026: A message from the territorial leaders
Commissioners Jenine and Paul Main
Commissioners Jenine and Paul Main encourage us to be part of the story as we celebrate who we are.
We are so excited to welcome Salvationists from across the UK and Ireland to Birmingham this weekend for Together 26, as we gather to celebrate who we are and what we are called to be.
Our theme, This Is Us, invites us to join together, united in faith, hope and purpose.
As we gather from all sorts of places and contexts in the United Kingdom and Ireland, we are reminded that The Salvation Army is not defined by its structures: we are a Movement of God’s people, grounded in his presence and energised by faith. There is a place for everyone to belong and flourish, and to play their part in carrying out God’s mission.
We also join in prayer and celebration as the cadets of the Keepers of the Covenant session are ordained and commissioned as officers. Their commitment to serve is a testament to God’s faithful love and covenantal promises to each of us as his children.
As the officers embark on their first appointments, we pray that they will step out in the confidence of God’s everlasting presence, trusting in his unwavering love and grace.
We are grateful to everyone involved in the preparations and rehearsals behind the scenes to make this weekend happen. Your faithful service has set the stage for what we believe will be an uplifting time of fellowship. As we worship together, we trust that God’s Spirit will move among us, renewing us and equipping us all to live out our faith every day with boldness, passion, integrity, compassion, respect and mutual accountability.
May this weekend deepen our experience of who God is, who we are in Christ, and who he calls us to be. May our hearts overflow with love, as we go back out into our communities to break new ground and bring hope to others.
There are lots of ways in which you can join in Together 26 wherever you are.
In addition to this issue of Salvationist, you can live-stream all the main sessions on Saturday and Sunday online at youtube.com/salvationarmyvideo. There are also live updates at salvationist.org.uk and on the @SalvationistUKI Facebook page and Instagram account, plus a Bible message from newly commissioned Lieutenants Megan and Simon Moore on Salvationist Radio’s Sunday Worship at 11am and 6pm. Salvationist Radio’s Sunday Worship will also continue to explore the theme of This Is Us over the coming weeks.
Wherever you are, as we join together in worship, prayer and celebration, let us rejoice in what God is doing in and through The Salvation Army – today and into tomorrow. Come as you are. Be part of the story. Let us boldly proclaim to the world together: this is us!
