Where I see God's love in my life!

Salvationist asks people around the territory how God’s love shows up for them in the everyday.

We see God’s love gently breaking into our everyday lives in countless ways. From the moment we wake, bleary-eyed, reciting the familiar words of Psalm 23, we can sense that God is right there beside us, and he is ready to journey with us through whatever the day may bring. Walking to the train station at dawn, watching the sun rise over the River Thames and noticing its ever-changing tides, we catch glimpses of his love woven into the beauty of his creation.

In every conversation, every decision and the ordinary routines, we sense God’s wisdom and guidance. His love is with us when we are able to share a meal with friends, in the precious FaceTime calls with children and grandchildren, and in the quiet moments of reflection. Truly, in our everyday lives, God’s presence and love are steadfast, personal and ever-present – guiding, comforting and encouraging us every step of the way.

Adli

God is my guardian who saved my life. I see God because he lives in me and I am in him.

Gabrielle

I see God’s love in myself because God made me. I see God’s love in people. I see God’s love in my family and in my mum because they look after me. Jenelle

I see God’s love in different ways, taking me and my siblings to school and caring for us.

Margaret

I see God’s love in my new church friends for being nice to me and my brother because they play with us and take us to the park. I missed my old church friends and was worried I wouldn’t make new ones, but they have loved me and I love them. I’m glad God sent me new people to love me and for me to love.

Mireya

I see God’s love in the morning and in the sky because God lives in Heaven. (Would God still love me if I was naughty? Yes!)

Nora

God is with me because he always takes me and my family places without any danger. I can’t see God, but he can see me and he always cares for me. If I need help or when I am worried, I pray, and then I feel peace.

I feel God’s love in the strength he gives me to face any challenges I can’t handle alone and feel him in the serenity he gives me as I serve others. His love shows in the everyday things that remind me we, as soldiers, are serving with purpose. I also see his love in the kindness of others and through the support of my family and best friend. God’s love is with me unconditionally every day.

Jacqueline, Ballymoney

God is always with me, and his love helps me stay strong through all my health struggles. I am glad that I know him as my Saviour and he guides me and gives me strength. I feel his presence in my life, and I am blessed with a loving husband, family, friends and church family. Every day I thank God for what he did for me and the verse that I hold dear is John 3:16: ‘For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

God’s love in my life is like never feeling alone, your favourite cosiest woolly jumper that’s always on. It’s about knowing that you have your biggest cheerleader and your safest confidante. It’s about being humbled, loved and reminded of the grace and forgiveness that God showed me first and asking: how I can offer this to others?

I have been truly blessed and felt God’s love deeply through blessings in my family. My daughter recently graduated with a law degree and, as many know, it is highly competitive and not easy to find opportunities that sponsor the pathway to the Solicitors Qualifying Examination. Yet God opened extraordinary doors for her, and for that I am sincerely grateful.

As an artist, the moments I spend in nature tend to be the same moments I’m absolutely blown away by God’s love. He is the ultimate artist. He has sown every wildflower seed, moulded their petals and splashed them with colour – and here I am to enjoy them, along with his wonderful love.

I see God’s love in my Feltham Salvation Army church family, where we are all different but we come together to love, give hope and be there for our wider church family that join us every day at our church.

I see God’s love in the kindness of our local lollipop man. He has endless patience, kindness and joy for each child that passes him and responds with such grace and peace to all the grumpy drivers that aren’t particularly nice to him. He shines brightly in the dreary school run.
