Public Affairs Unit

Houses of Parliament, London
The Public Affairs Unit (PAU) exists to speak into areas of public policy to support change for the benefit of some of the most disadvantaged people in our communities.

As a result of the work The Salvation Army does in corps and centres, including our homelessness services, employment services and modern slavery response, we can share with both local and national government what we see across our communities and tackle structural barriers to achieve greater social justice for the most marginalised.

While the PAU has a national focus and works on key policy areas, we also support corps and Salvationists to speak up for people in their communities.

Our key policy areas

The Public Affairs Unit has a specific focus on homelessness, modern slavery, and employment and social security.
