An opportunity to support local mission
‘See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.’ (Isaiah 43:19)
This year’s Harvest resources look to Isaiah 43:19 as a declaration of hope, provision and renewal in our communities. It is also a challenge to continually come before God for the new plans he has in mind!
The Harvest Offering is an opportunity to raise funds to support local mission. Exciting and inspiring initiatives have taken root all over the United Kingdom and Ireland territory because of the Harvest giving in recent years, and following this year’s offering, we look to the new mission-focused activities that will spring up in our communities.
75% of the money you give stays right in your corps to help fund local mission. The other 25% goes to your divisional Mission Innovation Fund. This fund supports new and creative mission opportunities which could be difficult to finance from other sources. It offers an empowering and releasing opportunity for corps to access money to do something new and exciting, allowing space for creativity and experimentation.
