Faith in Sport Resources
Summer 2026 is a true ‘summer of sport’ – with the FIFA Men’s World Cup, the Commonwealth Games in Scotland, and many other sporting events. For local leaders, this is an amazing opportunity for outreach, mission and ministry.
Many people within our communities will be excited, not only hoping that their country wins or their favourite athlete gains gold, but also because people are longing for something more than just success.
We, the Church, have an amazing opportunity to make a positive difference in the square mile that we live in. All of us – whether we are avid athletes or armchair sports fans – have a part to play in loving God and loving others through sport.
So if you are wanting your local setting to be a place that genuinely cares about people, feels connected to everyday culture and is full of life, two simple ways this can take shape are:

- Mission through pop-up sports
