Environmental Office

Across all our services, centres and corps, significant work is being planned and achieved to reduce our carbon footprint, including how we build, what we buy and how we travel. We aim to reduce the energy we use and in so doing help reduce costs. We can offer advice about measures you can take to help make your corps or centre more energy efficient.

We also seek to provide practical care and advocacy for people affected by damage to the environment. This work includes international projects to help people increase their resilience to the effects of climate change and overcome food insecurity, as well as providing immediate support and relief to people affected by extreme weather events.

We recognise that the Earth is the Lord’s, that he loves it and so should we! In doing so we discover that it is our common home – we quickly learn that as we care for creation, so creation is better able to sustain us. Humankind's push for unbridled development and growth only destroys creation. We must strive together to recognise we have enough, learn to stop and consider the bounty already provided, appreciate relationships, enjoy the seasons, protect, and support wildlife. We must learn to tread softly.
